Local colour, distant light



Nice pic of the pyramids, eh?
Even if they are a dime a dozen.





Not so fast.
Unless you've seen this photo - which is quite likely by now - I am willing to bet that this photograph of the pyramids is unlike any you've ever seen.

You see, the light that effected this image - the light that you're seeing when you see those pyramids, that Moon on that sky - is the light of a day that was and vanished more than 80 years ago. A fraction of that day's light, actually.

HINT: The pyramid photograph above isn't even the most impressive of the lot.
